Shaping Governance in MAT Trust Boards

An External Review of Governance - with added benefits!

Our External Reviews of Multi Academy Trust Boards focus on the trust board, how it operates and how it interacts with others parts of the trust.  The DfE has included within its 2021 Academy Handbook (1.32)  a strong suggestion that Trusts should seek an external assessment of their governance.  Traditional External Reviews can be based on the opinion of the reviewer.  Our reviews are inclusive and involve all layers of Trust Governance.

Our External Reviews will help your Trustees to:

  • Be clear in the strategic vision and ethos for the Trust and schools within it;
  • Hold the CEO to account for improving outcomes for all students, the running of the trust, and understand how the many ways that they can achieve this;
  • Understand their responsibilities for finance and how they can robustly monitor this, ensuring financial probity;
  • Learn, share and improve across nine important areas for Trustees and their governance, including compliance and future proofing;
  • Be more skilled, focused and effective; in delivering their roles and responsibilities with clear lines of delineation;
  • Ensure that the board includes the skills and commitment needed by Trustees;
  • Improve their governance structure and lines of communication across the Trust.

If you're interested in reviewing more of your governance, our unique Trust-wide review does just this.

"The impact has been phenomenal!"
